Invisalign braces is a discreet treatment option for Franklin, OH area patients with crooked teeth
Patients in Franklin, OH and Centerville, OH are welcome to speak to the team of K&E Advanced Dentistry to discuss the options available to them for the treatment of crooked teeth. Instead of traditional braces for improving bite and tooth alignment within the dental arch, our professionals, Drs. Mamta Kori and Scott Everhart, are excited to offer a more discreet alternative – Invisalign orthodontics.
At K&E Advanced Dentistry, we are excited to have options for our patients to consider when it comes to enhancing their smiles. When misaligned teeth are a concern for individuals, we recommend solutions that are focused on addressing these problems. Our dentists will advise patients to ask about Invisalign as a way to realign the teeth and feel more confident in their smile. Invisalign is not like traditional braces. Instead of using metal brackets and wires that are glued to the teeth to move them into a different position, Invisalign uses a computerized image of the smile to create a series of clear trays that are worn over the natural smile to realign the teeth in a gentle method. Drs. Mamta Kori and Scott Everhart find that both teenagers and adults love this method of realignment when compared with traditional orthodontia.
Why choose Invisalign?
There are many advantages to our patients who are considering Invisalign to reposition their natural teeth. Invisalign is:
- Easily manageable by patients
- Easy to care for
Invisalign is a method of realignment that is best for patients with mild to moderate misalignment of the smile and can be used to achieve the smile of one’s dreams within a year or less in most cases.
What is the process of obtaining Invisalign?
The first step in Invisalign is ensuring the process is right for a patient. Drs. Mamta Kori and Scott Everhart will encourage patients to book a consultation appointment at our practice for an assessment. During this evaluation, our team will determine if Invisalign would be an appropriate solution for our patients to consider. Once it has been decided that Invisalign is best and patients are on board with the idea of straightening their smile in this manner, then a series of digitized impressions are taken of the top and/or bottom teeth – depending on which arch requires realignment. These digital impressions are then sent to the Invisalign laboratory where a series of trays is fabricated. These trays are completely custom-made. The trays are sent back to the dental office, and patients are welcomed back into the practice for another appointment to go over the use and care of their Invisalign aligner trays. Patients are advised to wear each tray day and night for two weeks before progressing to the next tray in the series. This is essential in ensuring patients see the results they desire and within the proposed period of time. When patients do not comply with their treatment, they may experience delays as well as added costs to fabricate more trays to get them back on track. Patients who are serious about Invisalign should understand the importance of compliance with wearing the trays as required. Trays should only be removed from the smile to eat, drink, brush, or floss. Otherwise, they should be in place, so patients can progress through their series of trays properly and see the desired results. Because of compliance concerns, we often recommend Invisalign only to older patients such as teenagers or adults who can better comprehend how the process works and the importance of wearing the aligners to get the look they want!
